UFO or Chinese lantern?

On Sunday my mother and my brother saw a number of bright orange spheres moving in formation over Swansea Bay. My brother is estimated that were the size of a button, about 10 miles away. Many people have seen these, including a policewoman in the last couple of years. Some people say they are Chinese lanterns relays in the air. But from 10 miles away would you be able to see the glow of a flame the size of a button? My mother looked at me with binoculars and one of them said he could only see the crescent shape with the disks that looked like suckers on a tentacle !!!!! Description strange but that's what he said.

Ah. I was camping in a State Park this summer, and just take my nephews to the beach to watch ISS passes overhead, when about eight Chinese lantern balloon approached the trees. They were 100 feet to 500 feet up and very bright. I'm not surprised to hear miles that would be visible from a distance. I doubt that anyone seriously report as flying saucers, but people wonder. Very beautiful, but I would say they are a fire hazard.
