Where can I find a very good set of tools?

I used to work in a hardware store and I know that most of the sets of tools you can buy a lot of things that need along with the things you need. I want to buy my husband a very nice tool set with tools good quality ... but do not want all these extra things ... , As the tape measure, hammer, screwdrivers ... etc, I have things. Where can I find something like that? Or do I just have to buy individual items?
