Tail Flash

Animators need your help! How can I make a ball with tail attached in Flash CS3?

This is for a school project and I'm desperate for help. I have the ball in motion, but do not know how to connect the tail besides drawing frame by frame. It would be so difficult, except ball is coming toward you at an angle. I was thinking in creating the queue into two parts, and parents together, but keeps me launch angle. Any idea? Help would be very grateful!

I can not answer specifically, but can lead Layersmagazine.com, there are many tutorials ... may have a more going.
