What is the difference between the heat of the microwave oven, stove, oven and toaster?

If I want to heat the food that would be the difference between putting in a microwave, stove, oven or toaster? Why is it that every time putting food in the microwave, always comes out soft and disgusting?

The microwave oven (duh!) That generate heat inside the food. In other apparatus the heat comes from outside, often causing food to be browned on the outside.
