Can a Smith & Wesson Model 1000 12 ga shotgun with modified choke shoot steel shot? I'm not sure how many old is the gun.



Yes you can shoot any shot. What you need to see how much powder is used in a shell. The powder is what can damage his weapon, not firing. Too much powder makes bang too, and the barrel could explode in your face. I suspect that could ruin your day.
