Why my dog just wants to be around male dogs?

I realized my dog Snoppy only plays with male dogs only, actually runs the bitches, I mean that haunts the garbage, and piles of their male counterparts, does that mean he is gay? Are there gay animals, Please put my mind at ease here. Anyone out there ever had this experience with a pet. Thank you.
