With the beginning of April, automakers will report their sales for the previous month. It may be recalled that Edmunds.com, one of the sources of trust of automatic information industry, released their projected sales figures for the major players in the automotive industry.
The prediction shows a decrease in sales of the Big Three and, recently, Chrysler Group reported sales for the month of March, which shows that the forecast is very close the actual number of sales for the month. The Chrysler Group reported that 206,435 units were sold for the month of March. That number is less than 5 percent of their sales in the month last year. The group reported unadjusted sales figures that means they have not considered the extra day of sales for the month of March.
Steven Landry, Vice President of Sales and Field Operations for the Chrysler Group, has said: "In a flat to slightly lower than the industry, our sales decline 5 percent compared with March 2006 was our best month of March in four years. With strong monthly sales of the Dodge Ram light-up trucks, the Dodge Avenger and Nitro along with sales of Jeep ® 4 percent, which exceeded our own expectations. "This is because the Jeep brand increased its sales by four percent for the month of March of the year compared to last year.
One of the main reasons for the increase in sales of the Jeep brand is the large amount of unit sales of the Jeep Wrangler. For the month of March this year, the Jeep Wrangler sold 13,397 units compared to last 8180 years the units the same month. That marks a 64 percent increase in sales of the Jeep Wrangler.
Other models of the Jeep brand that recorded high sales figures are the new Jeep Patriot and Jeep Compass. The new Jeep Compass posted a sale of 3802 units, while the New 2109 Jeep Patriot units sold. The introduction and strong sales of these two new models helped the Jeep after the four percent sales improvement. The two new models serve a purpose similar to that of a title = "Sign of the Volvo round"> turn signal Volvo shows where the brand is going.
Other models showed remarkable increase in Sales figures are from the Chrysler and Dodge. Although the Sebring model showed a decline from 14 percent in terms of sales for the month of March, the sedan version model posted sales of 7908 units in March, an increase of 30 percent over last year during the same period. The Chrysler 300 recorded sales of 11,376 units, but decreased by 12 percent compared with sales last year. For Dodge, the winners are the Dodge Caliber and Dodge Charger. The brand sold 8634 units in size, 32 per cent more than the number of size sold in March last year. The brand is also sold 12,707 units of Dodge Chargers an increase of 41 percent compared to March 2006, sales for the same model.
