Why so shy callibers American hunters to use light to hunt deer?

Im from New Zealand and a lot of people, including people who hunt with rifles in use, such as .223. still drop a large animal like a deer or an elk (KLA). just being a good handle. But then again if its not a good chance you shouldn't be hunting.

Because it is human to do. Light caliber bullets could explode on impact and not penatrate death in the bowels quickly and cleanly. 223 Bullets are designed for use varmit primairly thin shirt. Balas and gauges are designed with a purpose. Only because a weapon can kill an animal doesn't mean its the most humane way of doing the work. Let the thumbs down begin, lol.
