Kitchen knives?

My husband and I cook every day, and are looking for some awsome kitchen knives that are made for everything from fish staek dicing of the works we are willing to spend good money on them but do not know where to look too much when it comes to trademarks and such. any recommendations?

For brands, I have a set of Calphalon and well. JA Henckels is a wonderful brand, but expensive. To Calphalon, I have the contemporary style, and I like steel and contemporary style Katana. In addition, you have to get a Santoku knife. They make chopping vegetables and little things like garlic easy, even for the cook more inexperienced. They are incredible. Good luck!
