Is the issue that the Army can take a cross or yours?

I am joining the army, leaving for OSUT in August, and I was wondering if you can use my own cross, or if I join the Army issues. OSUT probably would not bring mine with me. But I heard that there are Army issued crosses and I've heard of people having its own or one that was given to them, while on the seas. So is the problem and if so is it mandatory that you wear that?

You are not has issued "one. You are allowed to use one. The chaplain will have some available if desired. It is not mandatory. Any paratrooper, Catholic or not, is wearing his medal of St. Michael.
