Worthing is a large city with a population of approximately 100,000 people located on the south coast of England between the South Downs and the English Channel. It is 60 miles south of London and 11 miles west of Brighton. It is served by good roads, rail and bus.
Evidence of settlement in the Worthing area dates back over 60,000 years to the Stone Age. In the New Stone Age some 5,500 years ago, was one of Britain's most important mining centers stone. With its banks and ditches enclosing an area of 65 acres Cissbury Ring is one of Britain's most prehistoric forts.
It was built during the Age of Iron, construction beginning before 300 BC and was probably the capital of the tribe. The Romans occupied the area with coins, tiles and pottery has been found, and evidence of buildings and roads of the time.
From the moment the Saxons established until the 18th century consisted of a series Worthing fishing and farming communities. He then began to grow along with other settlements such as Brighton and Bognor Regis, with the medical profession when praising the seawater as a panacea. It became fashionable to visit the beach.

There is much to offer visitors. During the day attractions include the Promenade and the Esplanade, Pier, numerous public parks, gardens and open and a nice mall. There are also many nearby places to visit as historic cities, monuments and attractions.
For those who are more energetic, there are wonderful walks and biking on the South Downs and along the coast. You can view or participate in various sporting activities with the football, golf, bowling, swimming and recreation center facilities to be well attended. Of particular interest is House Beach Park which is home to the outdoor bowling Governing Council, Bowls England and one of the most famous places in the world. Water sports include kayaking, sailing, kite and windsurfing.
When night and many restaurants, discos and pubs, quality production can be seen in the Connaught Companies Pavilion, Assembly Hall, the films on screen 2 and recently restored Connaught dome Cinemas.
A wide variety of accommodation is available for visitors. There are many hotels and guest houses on the seafront and the town and besides, inns and cottages in the town. Self catering options including cottages, apartments villas, chalets and static caravans are available along with caravan and camping sites.
Insurance with pedestrian streets, wide selection of street and major interesting stores and specialty shops, shops in Worthing is a real pleasure. There is a regular Wednesday market in Montague Street and a farmers market every fourth Saturday in South Street Square. French, Continental, Italian and Market Gardeners are year-round.
