I have a North facing flat roof, the torch on felt, 20 years ended in the gravel. How do I remove the heavy moss

Is insurance used to remove moss sense? Should I remove all white gravel and paint the felt with reflective silver paint or should I leave well alone? Any suggestion of the experts only please?
