Diving digital camera flash vs flashlight?

Im going to dive during the Christmas holidays and I was thinking of getting the mini ReefMaster marine life as it doesn't need underwater housing. I know my images are blue if i do get more light, but the professional ensemble with the large flash is $ 450 compared with $ 250 price for just the camera. If I have an underwater flashlight as $ 30 would be the same effect on my photos and make them more colorful and not so blue?

Get the cable. A flashlight is anywhere near good enough for decent photography. The color spectrum is far away. As to blue. Your photos will be blue, green, or tea color in the background no matter what. Everything depends on water that is in no flash or flashlight offset unless you are making macros.
