Emergency Whistle

Emergency Whistle
People really respond if I blew a whistle in a dark garage or lot?

Sometimes I get one of those little whistles key chain organization or company. I am considering putting one on my keychain, and the purchase of a thing of pepper spray to go with it. And Mag-Light. But I'm curious .... Why do people respond actually a whistle? I'm not sure if necessarily associate a sound with an emergency whistle. I guess it all depends on how the whistle sounded frantic. Any ideas? and recommendations on how to stay safe?

I would respond, but I'm pretty fearless. At 44, former Marine and I use to combat submission. Not your average and most people do not get involved. Case in point, guy was beating his wife around a convenience store and stopped him and said to go inside, while I called the police. He took off before police showed up and it goes unreported. 3 or 4 people went out and got into your car without doing a damn thing. Pepper spray or a stun gun would be your best bet. Never carry anything that can kill you like a knife or gun. Ask your mobile 911 set to activate speed dialing. Park in well lit places in the garage. Try to leave when another coworker leaves. Be aware of their surroundings and, above all, what good is the pepper spray or stun gun in her purse? Should be on hand until you are sure your vehicle with the doors closed.
