Compass Lensatic

What exactly is a "Lensatic" compass?
Please do not Google "Lensatic" and then just copy and paste. That's not answering my question. I am fully aware of what a compass is, but what makes a compass a "Lensatic" compass? By example, compared with other types of bars. Very well then, but what is called a compass that uses a magnetized needle then? SteveLaw not believe your response was correct. I just read in a Lensatic Compass is a compass with a vertical at the top and a separate lens that is used to align your reference point and read the bearing. So thanks for nothing asshole.
The modern compass with a swing of the needle is called a "Transporter" Compass. The Lensatic, or card Compass type in use by the U.S. Army today, uses a flat disk that is magnetized, compared with only one needle. The body of the compass rings disk uses electromagnetic induction to allow the drive axle rotation, which is much easier to just look down and have a relationship while walking. The carrier normally suspend the needle designs in oil, but more durable, are very difficult to read while walking through the jungle or in the sand.
