How long should a pot of coffee is boiled?

I just got a coffee maker, type of coffee where you puts it in the oven as a water heater and the water rises through the metal basket when it boils. I know you have to boil for few minutes but I do not remember exactly. Just drink a cup of coffee in the morning, but it must be strong enough to win in a fistfight.

Suitable perculating is eight minutes after boiling, lower heat and let perc. Also, if you want the coffee stronger or weaker than the adjustment time of perc after boiling.
