From 17 years in the mountains alone? (parents say they do not ...)?
I am 17.5 years old. I am well trained and experienced in the campsite, navigation, mountain and glacier travel, snow and ice. Rarely find someone who wants to push it (physically, not technically) as hard as I (as a journey of 30 hours without stopping). I'm almost an Eagle Scout and will probably be the farewell speech to my high school. I have no unreasonable decisions in history outdoors. My parents have obvious reasons for not allowing me to travel alone (more security in case of an emergency and collective decision making.) What do you think, should limited only to leave the mountain with a partner or should I allowed to do what I think is reasonable only? And please explain your reasoning.
I would not let my son go to the mountain alone .. I do not even allow my boyfriend to go to the mountains alone ... Things happen to the experts all the time .. and if something is happened to you and you alone? So you'd be pretty annoyed. If there was anyone with you, you have someone there who can help .. And yet who seem to think you are an expert and nothing bad can happen to you, they are not invincible. And even experts execution sometimes fatal accidents!
