Camping Boating

What is a good time of year for swimming plan / boat / camping trips in northern Texas and Oklahoma?

Im a noob camper / fisherman and so far I have two im planning trips, but I am sure what time of year to plan them (early spring to mid summer, late autumn, etc ...). The first trip is Lake Grapvine in northern Texas, a few friends and I rent a boat and fish and possibly a swim. The second trip is a camping trip to Turner Falls in Oklahoma, where we plan to stay 3 days 2 nights, and wants to swim and walk, and maybe fish. It's going to take my friends 4 years, so not want is that rain or cold, but I really do not want to go, when its true crouded and / or where there gunna be a lot of consumption (July 4).

well I like going out in the fall, it is not too cold yet, but its nice if you go in spring a lot like rain and water levels will be high swimming
