What is the best time of year to camp in Grand Canyon National Park?
I'm an experienced camper. my husband just has been camping once and is demanding heat, rain, etc. We have a 12, 9, and 5 years of age. We camp.
I think the best time of year is from now until mid-October and the first week of April to mid May Understand that the key here is "" not to be confused with "In" because given the age of your children, you will not be able to get the Backcountry Permit NPS that requires all trekkers who intend to spend Any number of nights camping out "in" the Grand Canyon This is going to get a permit since http://www.nps.gov/grca/parknews/upload/backcountry_planner08.pdf Backcountry you will spend the night in Basin really only have 2 options in the side of Basin S. Park: The Uber Mather GC and civilized kind of remote w and pleasant / CS view at Desert View Here is everything you need to know about that http://www.nps.gov/grca/planyourvisit/cg-sr.htm>> Side note: It is often said erroneously by many other posters that is hot in summer GCNP> Although this statement is 100% true if one refers to the Interior Canyon is not true if you refer to the edges of the canyon rarely heated to 90 F S. Watershed is at 7000 in a forest of Ponderosa Basin N. in 8000 is' + in a forest Ponderosa pine that transitions to Aspen Enjoy your visit
