Butane Stove

portable butane stove / burner electric stove coil vs?

I'm pretty sick of the stove in my apartment whirlpool electric coil. is slowly heated, is heated under, its unbalanced. im thinking of buying a portable butane burner and just use them instead. assuming average costs cylinder of butane, the average rates for electricity and a load of standard kitchen that cost more than $ $ $ to work later this month?

I was a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa for 2 years, where the Corps gave me a 2-burner butane stove-top table, which happily used the entire time I was there. I have a couple of those big bottles and generally lasted 4 to 6 months. My African neighbors were curious to see how it worked, so it was a topic of conversation as well. It worked very well and I can not think of a reason why it could not do that here, and I would also if I did not already have a range of gas. The danger only occurs to me, that is obvious and would apply to an electric heater in equal measure, is that you have to keep children far from it so it will not burn.
