Built Primer

What type of primer / paint was going to use MDF bookshelves?
I am building a cabinet, 13 'shelf high / out of the blue in my living room and will be using MDF and molding. I want to finish in a tough, durable paint, white is for. What kind (brand and type) of primer / Paint should I use? Brush or roller? Thank you.
MDF I use quite often. I with Prime KILZ and then paint. You must be especially careful with the edges showing. Really dive into the paint and tend to be tough-looking. The sand carefully, the first and then sand again until tender. A roller will give a softer finish. Also if you use an eggshell end will look better. It also tends to hide the brush marks. For cases where the books I like a oil-based paint. It's more trouble, but will be more durable. Note: If you use MDF for the shelves, make sure they are held throughout its length. MDF can be downloaded at the time and extra support will prevent this.
