How do I originally wiring smoke detector batteries? And still maintain a backup battery?

We have smoke detectors battery. I was hoping for a hard wire AC / DC adapter that gives equal 9V (not sure of amps), directly to the cable battery. I just left before the battery, but hope you can make some sort of battery backup in case power goes out. I put in a 9V rechargeable battery where 9V DC has now come to the track? Thanks for any ideas and help.

That does not sound like a good idea for me, the traction line (with battery backup) detectors are available and not too expensive. Most rechargeable batteries require charging voltage be somewhat higher that the voltage of the battery by simply connecting a rechargeable battery to the DC input or is the problem of not reaching full charge, or load. You could try using diodes to isolate the adapter and battery (rechargeable), but due to the voltage drop across the diode, can receive a low battery warning, if you disconnect food, even with a good battery. In addition, an inexpensive adapter can provide very clean-CC, and a smoke detector batteries are designed assuming no wave and a relatively stable voltage.
