Does it matter if the clippings bag when Zoysia grass cut?

I have a standard self-propelled mower with bag. I just recently cut with the "trap door" in the back closed and no bag. Will this damage my lawn? Is it important for this particular type of grass?

Some people do not like seeing the cuts lying dead on the lawn. It does not harm the grass to do this and provide fertilizers, deteriorates, adds nutrients. Zoysia grass is very thick so it probably will empty the bag often.
