How to build a backpack and sleeping bag for camping?

New to camping and hiking. My 12 years of age is the Boy Scouts. It has included light, but the backpack is still so bulky. We can use a framed backpack because you must crawl through some low lying areas and take their material through the opening. I know it must be an easy way to put it all together. The burden must be light enough for children age 12 to conduct an expedition caving. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated!

I am 14 and started when I was 12. I live in Alaska, so this may not be what you are looking for, but I will do my best. First, I always try to bring smaller and lighter bag that I have to work for it should get colder. You you can always layer up if you feel cold. Also, internal frames are good, except that would require the majority of elements within what I have experienced. Go through your pack when packing is made to ensure that there is nothing that you do not need or worth its weight. A tip-Use extra clothes as a pillow, because it maintains warm when it's cold and has no extra space.
