Angel Camping

Any good places to camp around Angel Fire, New Mexico?

I just moved to Angel Fire, New Mexico and would like to know where some a good year-round camping, snow and everything. I do not mean pay sites, I mean REAL camping.

You have the holy Valle Vidal Unit of forest Kit Carson National just up the road in Cimarron. There are one of a few sites, but you can slap on a package and go find a good campsite. Great are points near the base of Little Costilla Peak and Mountain Ash. Greenwood Seally Colca Canyon and also have some nice places. You'll have to deal with a scout some occasionally moving as far north of Philmont, but really only around the ring Place, Rich Cabins, and Whiteman Vega. (All in the map.) Now ... and I am making no promises ... get in with some of the staff members in more than Philmont. They can give some suggestions or may be able to take some positions on their property. If you still worked there, I would ... but I'm not in that position. Finally ... the next time you go to Taos, stopping at the store N Flood Mudd "gear.'s In the plaza.
