What is a good method to remove dust off of aluminum alloy wheels?
My car has a lot of accumulated dust off at the edges and I can not get it off with conventional soap and water. It's just a visual problem, but I want it to be clean tires. They are alloy aluminum. I do not want to use a chemical that can damage the tire. Just wondering if anyone had success with a specific cleaning agent from help is appreciated.
For the past few years, our store was used glasses gold Meguiars wheel cleaner. It runs about $ 6.00 per bottle in any store parts. It is completely safe on aluminum and cuts through baked on brake dust very well. In most aluminum wheels clean is to make compatible the trick. Most parts stores carry the brands of wheel cleaners 10-12. You can find a cheaper alternative to Meguiar's products but probably will wash a little more time. If you really want to make the wheels pop invest in some Meguiars Mag and Aluminum Polish. You will be surprised at the difference it makes in the overall brightness. This product is only to be applied to a wheel perfectly clean! It runs about $ 8.00 a can. Can be applied with good Times fashion elbow grease or a buckskin ball for faster results. Hope this helps!
