That cost a lot, but save you a bundle
Rechargeable batteries used in cameras, remote controls, flashlights, etc, etc and although they are very expensive spending, along with an appropriate charger, but will save a lot of cash because it is 30 to 100 times more, depending on the mark. If you compare the cost of 100 penlight batteries with rechargeable battery cost of 1, you will start seeing the savings. They come in various sizes: flashlight (AA and AAA) batteries for the torch (A), the square and 9V types.
An example of savings
Typically, a set of 4 batteries for flashlight Rechargeable (AA) with a charger included, will cost about 10 times what a pack of 4 rechargeable AA batteries no cost.
No batteries x 4 = $ 1.80 After replacing the batteries from 50 times: $ 90
Rechargeable x 4 + Charger = $ 18 After replacing the batteries from 50 times $ 18 (plus about $ 2 cost of electricity)
It could save at least $ 70 over the life of only 4 AA batteries.
MAY use rechargeable batteries in any device that takes batteries?
Yes That works well on any device that fit properly.
WHAT DOES NiCd and NiMH batteries?
Nickle cadmium NiCD means and is an older technology. NiMH means Nickle Metal Hydride and is a new technology with a number of benefits.
Can be recharged more frequently.
Do not suffer the "memory effect" so it can be recharged when it's just a little "used" or discharged with no ill effects. The type of NiCD like to be fully discharged before recharging.
It can hold more charge to last longer before needing a recharge.
These batteries are rated in mAh, or milli amp hours, usually printed on the side of the battery. for example: 2600mAh. This is the amount of cargo it can hold. A 2600mAh battery will keep your device for more than 1700mAh battery.
HOW LONG ONE LAST rechargeable battery?
Some brands of lower quality and recharge your 20 or 30 times, while the quality brands enable 100 or more before recharging the battery starts to underperform. (Some boast of 1000 recharges, but take this with a pinch of cynicism!) This usually means that from one year to 4 years before having to replace batteries with new ones.
The types and proven to perform OK: Hybrio Duracell, Eveready recharge.
HOW LONG CAN BE STORED These batteries before use?
NiMH batteries have a new technology called low discharge, that allows the batteries to be stored on the shelf (or in your camera bag) for long periods. In one year only lost 15% of its load. Seniors NiMH battery types have to be recharged every few months if left on the shelf.
THESE ARE FRIENDS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT batteries?
They are free mercury, but still need to be recycled. But they are definitely more environmentally friendly just because there are fewer of them to have: in the example above: 4 vs. 400 non-recharging for the same amount of use.
Therefore, make the switch from rechargeable batteries and make some money and a lot of trips to the shop!
